Following the Panzer Dragoon Lives story I posted nearly a week ago, GameTap posted a story on its blog explaining its position on Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Perhaps equally important is the poll they posted.  The blog post went up nearly a week ago, and I have been watching it carefully. The poll poses three options:

1) Would you pay for a GameTap subscription ($4.99 per month) to play Panzer Dragoon Saga?

2) Would you pay for a downloadable copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga from GameTap’s shop?

3) Should GameTap focus on other projects?

To date, the results look good for PDS. A total of 624 people have voted and the majority of them (59% or 367 voters) prefer a downloadable copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga. At total of 29% (183 votes) of the voters would pay for a subscription to play PDZ, and 12% (or 64 votes) of the participants though GameTap should focus on something else.

Obviously, my opinion is that GameTap should publish it. Why sit on a huge title like that and wonder later if it was made a mistake to pass it by? So what if it takes two months to publish? It’s a little goldmine. It’s highly valuable. It’s Panzer Fucking Dragoon Saga (PFDS).

Here’s my open letter to GameTap:

“Dear GameTap, now that you have seen that the majority of your readers would either buy a downloadable version of PDZ or get a subscription to play it, what are you waiting for, a riot? A punch in thre face? A bouquet of roses? Get on it. Steal the thunder of eBay’s basty overpriced versions and show the young kids of TEH NET what all the fuss is about.  PUBLISH PANZER DRAGOON SAGA. — Love, Doug”
